Privacy Policy — Are You Faster? for Garmin
Effective: July 2026
The short version: Are You Faster? performs its chase calculations
directly on your Garmin device. The app does not require an account and does
not transmit your GPS location or activity data to AYF.
What the app does with your data
- GPS position and speed are read from your watch during
an activity to run the live animal pursuit. They are processed on the
watch, in the moment, and are never sent to AYF.
- Activity recordings (your run or walk, plus the AYF
race summary fields) are saved as a standard Garmin activity on your
watch. Syncing that activity to Garmin Connect is handled entirely by
Garmin under Garmin's privacy
policy — AYF has no access to it.
- Heart rate is read on the device to measure your
post-exercise recovery (how far your heart rate falls in the minute
after a race). The reading is computed and stored only on your watch
and in your own Garmin activity file; it is never sent to AYF. It is
fitness feedback, not medical advice.
- Local progress (your pace baselines, points, animal
collection, streaks, recovery history, and settings) is stored only on
the watch. Uninstalling the app deletes it.
What the app does not do
- No account, sign-up, or login of any kind.
- No transmission of location, health, or activity data to AYF or any
third party. The app requests no network permission at all.
- No advertising, analytics, or tracking of any kind inside the app.
Purchases
There are none. Are You Faster? is completely free: no purchases, no
subscription, no advertising.
