Getting Started
Q: How do I start a run?
Choose a mode: Run Wild (mammal roster), Community (human or team challengers), or Fantasy Teams (rotating featured opponents). In Run Wild, pick Hunt or Escape, select a difficulty band (1–5), choose a biologically accurate mammal opponent from the roster, then tap Start. GPS tracking begins for your session.
Q: Which opponents should I pick?
In Run Wild, start with lower difficulty bands and slower mammals; progress as your pace improves. Opponents are biologically accurate and ready to challenge you across the full species-scale roster. Community and Fantasy Teams use their own matchmaking and leaderboards.
GPS & Tracking
Q: GPS not working?
Make sure Location Services are enabled for Are You Faster in your device settings. GPS works best outdoors with clear sky visibility.
Q: Inaccurate distance tracking?
GPS accuracy can vary based on weather, buildings, and tree cover. For best results, run in open areas away from tall structures.
App Issues
Q: App crashes or freezes?
Try closing and reopening the app. If the problem persists, restart your device. Make sure you have the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.
Q: Lost my progress?
Detailed run history is stored on your device. Uninstalling or clearing app data can remove local progress. Signed-in accounts sync certain competitive and profile data to secure cloud services; recovery options depend on what was synced. Optional expanded backup may be offered in future releases.
Account & Privacy
Q: Is my data private?
We prioritise privacy: GPS traces and personal run history stay on your device. Online features (leaderboards, roster delivery, profiles, daily race limits) use encrypted cloud infrastructure with purpose-limited sync; we do not sell your personal data. A signed-in account is required for ranked online play and community features. See our iOS or Android Privacy Policy.
